Narrative Bump It Up Wall

This "Bump It Up Wall" pack is all about improving student's writing and taking ownership over their work. The examples help students see what makes a good piece of writing, as well as how texts can be improved.
 
These posters help students with their writing, in particular, short stories/ responses. There are three levels – 1, 2, 3. It promotes students taking responsibility for their own learning and helping them recognise their strengths and weaknesses. It assists with the editing stage immensely and promotes academic conversations amongst peers to help each other. The key is that they know what they need to do in order to better their work and improve their grade.
 
You can use the examples in literacy rotations, as a whole class or individually for students to see examples of writing in relation to the bump it up wall. You can annotate examples and look for specific vocabulary and language features or improve texts to bump up their writing.
